Periodontal Therapy
Periodontal disease is diagnosed in 8 out of 10 adults. Bacteria accumulate around the body of the teeth and should be removed daily by brushing and flossing. However, a soft buildup will often calcify due to minerals found in saliva. Those deposits cannot be removed by the patient, requiring a professional to scale off the root surface of the tooth. With regular care, periodontal disease can be stabilized and bone level preserved. If the disease advances, Dr. Frazier will refer the patient to a periodontist for more in-depth treatment. |
